Cox Media Group—Dayton Radio WHKO/K99.1FM is seeking an innovative and competitive on-air personality for an extremely rare opportunity on the decades long #1 rated  music station in the area as co-host for the equally long #1 rated morning show, New Country Mornings with Nancy. The next superstar to join K99.1FM must be passionate about country music, the artists, the format and be ready to be a part of creating some of the most unique content in the country.  K99.1FM’s next personality lives the lifestyle, understands how to connect to a listener today and beyond, can easily connect with people on-air, in person and on social media to relate to the lifestyle in the Miami Valley area in Ohio, understands  being local and relatable, the importance of serving our community with a “team first” attitude.   



  • Show prep, including format related content, pop-culture content and local content; writing and posting web and social media content; writing and delivering commercial or personal endorsement content.

  • Co-hosting regular air shifts, plus other voice-tracked shifts as assigned.  Duties include working closely with program director to develop relatable content, execute format, and deliver ratings goals.  

  • Attend all relevant station meetings

  • Must be able to work control board operation, including editing phone bits, interviews and other audio.

  • Remotes and appearances at station, community events, or life group functions, as assigned.  

  • Must know how to set-up operate equipment and promotion gear during remote broadcasts 

  • Work with sales and promotions to maximize revenue opportunities, including promotions and personal endorsements.


    Qualifications:Please Submit online your Resume and Air Check Sample requested with online application upon submission for this role.Minimum one-year on-air experience and format knowledge in country, contemporary hit radio, Top 40 or Hot ACStrong on-air presence.  Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.Track record of success in ratings and revenue.Experience operating all on-air and production equipment.Experience with audio software editing products (Adobe Audition, etc.)Computer skills for audio delivery and automation systems (Wide Orbit, Audiovault, etc.), word processing, audio editing and web/social media.Experience with Music Master preferred Must be available as needed, including nights, weekends, etc., when required.MUST be social media savvy, on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, etc.   Must have a valid drivers license.Preferred:Previous on-air experience in Country, CHR, Top 40, Hot AC preferred.
