Matador Network is looking for a creative and analytical Social Media Producer who will own the day-to-day running of our social media platforms.

Daily job duties:

  • Work directly with Director of Social Media and editorial team on daily production
  • Collaborate with Director of Social Media and Managing Editor on social strategy
  • Schedule content throughout the day across social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter)
  • Maintain social media partnerships
  • Perform social outreach for different types of editorial content
  • Curate Matador’s Instagram (feed and stories) and Pinterest
  • Provide analytics support for video and written content
  • Stay proactive about scheduling seasonal content, including around holidays and pop
  • culture events
  • Be available for digital communication throughout the day on Slack and email
  • Join weekly staff meetings (social media and editorial) via online conference system
  • Occasionally represent Matador on press trips and conferences domestically and abroad

Skills:

  • A strong command of English
  • Ability to write dynamite, witty copy for social media posts in a timely manner
  • In-depth knowledge of latest travel trends, pop culture, and news
  • Self-starter, someone who takes initiative
  • Experience scheduling content for Facebook, Instagram (stories and feed), Pinterest, and YouTube
  • Experience working with Google Analytics
  • Experience with basic photo editing software required, video a plus
  • Experience working in Mailchimp preferred
  • A deep understanding of Matador’s voice, audience, and brand
  • Enthusiastic, hard working, and full of new ideas for how to keep improving our social media
  • A love for travel, adventure, and people!

Nuts and bolts:

  • Junior position with monthly compensation
  • Full-time independent contractor
  • Remote position (i.e., working from your home office)
  • Based in US time zone. Working hours 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (in your home time zone)
