We have a very rare prime fulltime opening at Cox Media Group’s 102.3 KRMG Tulsa’s News & Talk, the most respected and award-winning N/T radio station in the state of Oklahoma.

 

This fulltime position is for a Radio Producer.  We are looking for a motivated, extremely technical individual that loves to sit behind a radio board, in the master studio, and take control.  This is a prime shift from 2pm – 10pm | Monday – Friday. 

 

You will be involved in daily preparation of executing live radio broadcasts by running an audio board (Wheatstone) for syndicated talk hosts, executing our live and local KRMG Evening News, following a radio talk clock, working with our radio automation system (WideOrbit) working in conjunction with the station’s Program Director with on-air breaks, digital production (Adobe Audition), producing, writing, screening phone calls, building newsmaker relationships, and setting up interviews.  You will also be working in conjunction with station on-air talent, our News Director and station on-air clients.  You will need to be experienced in news writing, as you will be contributing to our website and social media platforms. NewsBoss knowledge is a plus.

 

You will also be responsible for on-air execution of covering severe weather (we are Tulsa’s Severe Weather Station), working with our chief meteorologist, our severe weather team and the national weather service.  You will also be responsible for breaking news, special programming and on-air traffic reports during your shift.

 

Other hours and duties can be added throughout the year due to special programming on-air.

  • Duty: 80% - Run a flawless radio audio board, follow a syndicated talk clock, produce and execute live in-studio client talk shows.
  • Duty: 10% - Live on-air delivery of news/weather/traffic.
  • Duty: 10% - Clearing the station’s commercial inventory through its automation software (WideOrbit).

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • College Radio Experience and/or degree in Radio/TV or any past professional radio board experience preferred. 
  • News/Talk Radio Experience preferred
