The Account Manager serves as the primary business contact for NBC News Archive Sales clients and is responsible for fulfilling client footage requests while maintaining the highest degree of customer satisfaction. S(he) is responsible for a sales target and is expected to manage and grow assigned accounts, develop new customer relationships and be able to think creatively about additional ways to service their accounts. This requires clear and concise communication with both clients and internal resources to guarantee seamless delivery of services and content. Multi-tasking and time management are critical, as the Account Manager must organize and prioritize a wide variety of tasks to ensure excellent client service. The Account Manager is a problem-solver with a “can do” and friendly attitude in meeting client requests and deadlines.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Manage customer accounts and develop client relationships to achieve sales target.
  • Manage the sales cycle from initial conversation with client to final delivery of content and invoicing.
  • Understanding of NBC News Archive Sales content, rights and clearances, and service in order to effectively communicate all offerings to the client.
  • Liaise with the Research, Rights and Clearances and Operations teams and other internal teams regarding clients’ requests.
  • Maintain and “own” CRM records so the data is useful for both client interaction and future business development data.
  • Ensure that all aspects of customer account financials are accurate and up to date. Liaise with clients and Finance on account and billing issues
  • Track sales forecasts and update actuals and project status on an on-going basis.

  • • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university required.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience working in licensing or sales.
    • Knowledge of footage industry and existing client base preferred.
    • Driven, highly motivated person who can take the lead on projects and see them through completion.
    • Team player who strives to provide unparalleled customer service.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong computer skills (incl. Excel, Powerpoint, CRM, etc.).
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Detail oriented with ability to maintain accurate records.
