ROLE SUMMARY:

SOM is seeking a highly skilled Producer to join its Digital Content Team. This is a hands-on role where you will be required to manage the planning, production, development, and maintenance of multiple digital platforms. You will demonstrate superior ability to engage cross-functional teams to deliver creative storytelling of the firm’s projects across its diverse markets, and drive from ideation to execution quality, user-focused content solutions. This means planning, organizing, and implementing consistent production processes to ensure that deliverables are met. Successful candidates will have a keen interest in architecture and the built environment, demonstrate exceptional collaboration skills, and keeps abreast of new technology and trends in online applications. You will work in close collaboration with the Senior Manager of Content Strategy and Editorial, and report into the Firmwide Communications Leader.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Develops, manages, and coordinates technical and creative projects to improve and maintain SOM’s public platforms, including its English and Chinese websites, and social media channels
  • Acts as the point of contact between SOM and its vendors
  • Establishes and understands the commitments outlined in project proposals or contracts, including scope and budget, manages and communicates expectations
  • Strategizes with project teams and stakeholders to analyze requirements, anticipate problems, identify alternatives or solutions, and make recommendations
  • Plans, schedules, tracks, and reports progress through all project phases, and monitors budget
  • Works with web developers, vendors, and internal IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise
  • Contributes to content strategy, actively contributes to creative and strategic discussions, and plans and executes content projects or campaigns
  • Works to ensure content conforms to SOM standards and content guidelines
  • Supports the development of goal-based metrics; monitors, collects, evaluates, and reports on performance, and supports the creation of reporting deliverables and presentations
  • Drives research and development of platforms and tools
  • Stays on top of industry technologies and trends
  • Leads and participates in meetings for team or inter-departmental projects, progress updates, or process evaluations
  • Helps to set and document standards and procedures, and provides insight on process improvement, tools, and resources in line with best practices
  • Provides technical assistance to staff and works with service providers to resolve technical issues
  • Contributes to staff training and mentoring
  • Promotes a positive, motivational, team-oriented attitude to facilitate discussion and collaboration

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field such as information systems technology or user experience design, or related experience
  • 4+ years of experience in digital marketing or communications context
  • Experienced at project managing design and development projects for large websites, working with multiple stakeholders
  • Can manage and track multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment, with responsibilities including prioritizing, delegating, budgeting, and implementing processes
  • Well versed in web design and development trends, processes, and technologies
  • Experience with project management tools, content management and publishing systems, analytics platforms, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong knowledge of content marketing, and related trends and technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization and time management
  • Detail oriented and analytical, can evaluate, synthesize, and clearly present complex information
  • A collaborative, team-oriented individual who can work with professionals of any level
  • Familiarity with architecture, design, and the built environment, and the issues and business drivers associated with these industries, is a plus
