Role Purpose
The Drupal / PHP Developer will be a developer for building and maintaining a state-of-the-art sports content management system for the NBC Sports Group. Responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining features of the NBC Sports Group web sites and the internal systems used to create them. The Developer works as part of a group of passionate technologists with a clear charter to deliver the best possible sports-related web and mobile applications available. Each member of the team works with a wide degree of creativity and latitude

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop features for NBC Sports Group properties such as NBCSports.com, NBCOlympics.com, and Rotoworld.com
  • Implement sophisticated user interfaces using leading technologies and techniques
  • Support web servers and other servers via scheduled maintenance, performance tuning, and monitoring
  • Provide feasibility reviews for potential new projects, including development effort estimates
  • Build applications to agreed upon specifications within the required timeframe and budget
  • Architect new features in the Drupal CMS and manage the implementation of all CMS features
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of LAMP performance and configuration
  • Conduct peer-reviews of PHP application code, ensuring that all code complies with team standards
  • Create each new feature with attention to performance and scalability
  • Work with Customer Service and QA to identify and address reported issues quickly and effectively


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum three (3) years developing web sites using PHP
  • Two (2) years of experience with Drupal 7 and Drupal 8 preferred
  • Experience developing for large scale commercial web applications
  • Comfortable coding HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience with javaScript frameworks like VueJS, React, and AngularJs preferred
