Seeking Alpha is looking for a Manager, Sales Planning and Account Management to assist our Media Sales team and to support the Account Management team’s efforts of customer engagement and retention. This is an in-office position based in our offices near Grand Central Station. This role is responsible for providing superior solutions-oriented customer service to meet our clients’ needs and owns the post-sale client relationship. The ideal candidate provides superior client service through best-in-class campaign management, relationship development, account retention, and upsell activities. This role will work across Seeking Alpha’s internal departments on behalf of their clients for day-to-day and proactive client requests and will work closely with the Account Management team to advise, mentor, and train the team on operational best practices. 

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Management of day to day support of digital sales team throughout pre- and post-sales process including: 

  • Train, mentor, and provide advice to Account Managers on the team
  • Review all media proposals to ensure we are meeting campaign objectives and KPIs at the proposal submission stage
  • Partner with Account Management Director and Sales to retain and grow accounts, strategize and contribute ideas to upsell and incremental tactics 
  • Manage and proactively troubleshoot delivery issues to ensure all campaigns across sales accounts will deliver in full and meets campaign KPIs
  • Manage all post-sale communication on assigned accounts externally and with a lens to sales; internal liaison across capabilities and independently project manage standard and complex tasks to completion
  • Participate in the hiring and screening of new Account Managers
  • Partner with Director of Account Management with training and onboarding of new Account Managers
  • Add value to the larger Account Manager team by developing and sharing subject matter expertise
  • Provide feedback to Director of Account Management on a quarterly basis on observations of the pre- and post-sales process that can help with team’s operational efficiency
  • Development of compelling media plans, both proactively and in response to RFPs, that are strategic, creative, accurate, and meet client objectives
  • Maintain and establish a level of quality for all pre-sale requirements, including but not limited to decks and media plans
  • Accurately calculate the availability of advertising inventory for sales proposals
  • Provide strategic insights into placements and targeting to drive campaign success
  • Communicate with the client/agency contacts to ensure the highest level of customer service and to help cultivate the sale
  • Optimize advertising campaigns to better meet advertisers’ needs
  • Manage the success of booked advertising campaigns by ensuring that KPIs are met and billed in full
  • Assemble and present post-campaign reports, which include analysis of performance, key takeaways, insights, and learnings to clients
  • Strategically analyze performance of campaigns and communicate results to sales

Requirements:

  • 6 years related digital experience
  • BA/BS and Sales Marketing discipline preferred
  • Demonstrate ability to improve and follow process, troubleshoot issues, communicate effectively to management, and serve as a leader amongst their peers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Extremely organized, detail oriented
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Self-starter with a high level of professionalism and business acumen
  • Strong time management skills, able to effectively multi-task and reprioritize as needed
  • Eloquent writer and communicator who can simplify complex ideas
  • Collaborative and derives satisfaction from achieving goals as a team

Proficient in:

  • Microsoft Office

     

Prefer Knowledge In:

  • Google apps
  • DoubleClick For Publishers
  • Financial experience is a plus
