IRI is seeking a candidate to manage TV product development and support customer acquisition within its rapidly growing advanced targeting and measurement business in the TV space.  The candidate would assume TV product development responsibilities which involves synthesizing marketplace and internal feedback to inform ongoing modifications of IRI TV offerings.   The candidate would gather this feedback while communicating and coordinating the integration of IRI’s industry-leading U.S. consumer data sets with TV viewing metrics. IRI consumer data is drawn from 350 million retailer loyalty cards linked to a 126-million household identity graph.  

 

Candidate Skill Sets and Background

Ideally, candidate would possess proficiency in the following skill sets:

  • Consumer targeting - working knowledge of the development and application of consumer targets for media and advertising activation, including familiarity and hands-on experience with commercially available consumer segments and data sets.
  • Advertising testing - working knowledge of test and control experimental design for isolating impact of TV advertising on business outcomes or branding measures.
  • TV industry
    • Ecosystem organizations – familiarity with TV networks, DSPs, CTV outlets
    • TV ad inventory types - working knowledge of various TV ad inventory sources: standard linear, data-driven linear, addressable, VOD, connected TV (CTV) and digital video.
  • TV audience measurement – general familiarity with available sources of TV viewing data including Nielsen panel-based system, set-top-box (STB), and all content recognition (ACR); familiarity with TV attribution purveyors such as Alphonso TV, Samba TV, iSpot.tv, etc.
  • CPG /OTC exposure – experience working with CPG or OTC brands in an advertising or media placement capacity
  • Media planning fundamentals - familiarity with basics of media spend allocations across media and TV channels

Candidate Duties

  • TV Product development
    • Shape IRI data products for TV based on marketplace and internal IRI input on an ongoing basis
    • Determine product needs within and across TV ad sources and platforms (i.e., standard linear, data-driven linear, addressable linear, VOD, CTV and digital video  
  • Business Development and Operational Activities
    • Support IRI TV solutions through several work streams, including the following:
      • Address customer and prospect inquiries related to using IRI Audience segments for TV targeting and IRI Measurement for assessing targeting impact and campaign efficacy
      • Help improve process of defining audience targets and feasibility of advanced target implementation
      • Track companies with which IRI maintains crosswalks , ensuring that those x-walks are regularly updated and that IRI receives fees due it under these agreements
      • Assist in creation of collateral materials that differentiate and describe IRI TV Products, including key IRI ecosystem partnerships and availability of audience and measurement capabilities.
      • Evaluate and identify appropriate TV data partners that meet specific advertisers and media seller needs. E.g., local measurement, cross-platform capability, sample size requirements, etc.
      • Support evaluation of vendors or business partners outside IRI’s current relationships that provide solutions to the TV ecosystem
      • Liaise with MCOE functional groups, including other (1) Product personnel, (2) Solutions, 3) Research & Design/Modeling (4) Product Marketing and (5) Business Development to achieve business development and operational work streams
    • Order processing - establish and maintain client licensing agreements in IRI systems
    • Brief IRI internal teams about TV marketplace developments, new IRI partners, our business relationships, new solutions, changes in capabilities, etc.
    • Partner with internal teams to conceive of or enhance go-to-market strategies that coordinate TV buy-side and sell-side efforts
  • Inform business development 
    • Maintenance and expansion of current client base business through cultivation of client relationships and referrals to IRI marketing
    • New client acquisition from diversity of TV verticals
    • Communicate with IRI advertiser and media agency groups for lead generation and existing client maintenance
