NBC News Digital is exceptional original reporting, breaking news coverage and stories that resonate well beyond the day’s headlines. We are looking for an Editorial Director of Digital Video to help us evolve our digital video efforts in News.
In this role, you will work with the Executive Editor of NBCNews.com to strengthen the editorial strategy for original, breaking and enterprise digital video in News, oversee story development, planning, production and execution by our team of video producers and video journalists, and work with our text editorial staff to add a visual layer to our news coverage. You should be a news junkie and a visual artist who is able to keep up with fast moving stories and understand the best way to bring those to life. You should also have a flair for the fun, creative and unexpected. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an iconic media brand that is known for its premium video content and open to innovation.
You’re a good candidate for this role if you’re a strong shooter, editor and reporter with a proven track record of creating high quality, journalistic, digital video – and leading others who do the same. You should also be able to adapt to emerging platforms and opportunities and appreciate visual storytelling across all platforms.
• 12+ years professional experience in news/documentary shooting, producing & editing for digital platforms with at least 5 years experience leading teams
• Proven success leading a digital video team and producing award-winning work
• Mastery in shooting (DSLR or similar) and editing as well as lighting and audio
• Experience with investigative reporting
• Experience in field and studio production, creating pieces that range from political analysis to investigative features.
• Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects)
• Must be aware of latest formats and trends in digital video
• Collaborative spirit and outstanding communication skills
