This is an exciting opportunity reporting to, and working collaboratively with, the Director of Communications & Marketing to bring NYLAG’s work and mission to life. The position will manage existing digital marketing responsibilities and is highly encouraged to help develop new, innovative approaches to tell NYLAG’s story in the digital space. This position works closely with many NYLAG colleagues, including senior staff, fundraising and program directors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Regularly update, manage, and create content (stories, statements, news, web pages) for,, and our proprietary social media accounts
- Manage back-end website maintenance and updates, including liaising with website consultant where needed
• Manage all e-mail marketing efforts (drafting, seeking approvals, and sending all external marketing emails)
- Serve as gate-keeper for all mailing lists, including segmenting e-mail marketing lists as needed
• Utilize best practices and new approaches to support fundraising in a digital space
• Monitor, compile, and analyze data from NYLAG’s digital media platforms to strategically increase visibility and make data-informed decisions for future content and campaigns
• Serve as organization’s graphic designer, designing and editing digital and print materials, including social media content, flyer templates, special projects, and more
• Serve as organization’s photographer, managing volunteer or paid photographers for annual gala, campaigns etc. where needed
• Under guidance from the director, implement designated parts of the yearly strategic communications & marketing plan, and editorial calendar
• Manage monthly digital internal staff newsletter
• Serve as gate-keeper for all outreach materials (i.e. signage, banner, table cloth, giveaways, etc.) and digital marketing equipment (cameras etc.)
• Participate in and execute editorial planning for awareness, policy, and fundraising campaigns
• Support the Director of Communications & Marketing in ensuring effective, consistent NYLAG branding on all communications materials, including by outside organizations and companies
• Catalogue and maintain a bank of image files for use in marketing and communications efforts
• Manage Google Ads
• Liaise with communications vendors, including graphic designers and printers
• Strategize with the director, and implement, internal and external communications about NYLAG policies
• In absence of director, cover sensitive communication matters
• Support admin functions, such as department payment requests from vendors

• Highly proficient in graphic design and relevant software: Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and similar.
• Proficient in social media, e-mail marketing, and website management (e.g Mailchimp or similar, WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices on digital media platforms
• Passion for NYLAG’s mission

• Strong organizational skills, collaborative and kind attitude, and attention to detail in a rapid response environment
• At least 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in graphic design, communications, or marketing in a professional setting preferred
