Location

New York office preferred, but all qualified candidates will be considered. 

Overall Function

Reporting to the Senior Art Director, the Designer will create executive-level presentations and graphics paired with superior storytelling that engages and influences our target audiences to support EDF's important work.

Key Responsibilities

As Designer, Organizational Presentations you will be responsible for creating stunning presentations that combine words and images to tell compelling stories that communicate EDF strategy and inspire audiences to support our mission. A core contributor to the Content team, you will be called upon to help distill complex ideas into accessible presentations, including visuals and graphics that support EDF marketing and development campaigns.

  • Design, produce and edit PowerPoint presentations that deliver on goals.

  • Work within established brand standards for a variety of audiences.

  • Collaborate with and provide creative guidance to internal business partners and streamline messaging to ensure the greatest impact.

  • Distill complex information into compelling narratives and bring to life with strong writing, interesting visuals, graphics and simple animations.

  • Identify and edit images and visual that best amplify and complement messaging. Imagery can come from both internal and external collections.

  • Create compelling infographics and other visual storytelling assets to use in presentation, reporting and digital mediums.

  • Conceptualize visual stories from data

  • Provide high level of quality assurance on all deliverables -- including spellchecking, formatting and maintaining consistent brand look and feel. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Graphic Design, preferably in marketing or fundraising; agency or studio experience preferred

  • Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign / Illustrator / Photoshop)

  • Ninja-level ability to design and animate in PowerPoint (Visio a plus)

  • Impeccable typographical skills and a disciplined eye for visually organizing information and graphic treatments

  • Strong writing, communications, project management skills, prioritization and organizational skills

  • Creative team player who can work effectively with executives across teams, under tight deadlines

  • Ability to work independently yet collaboratively, with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to analyze own work and that of others

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects concurrently

  • Working knowledge of environmental issues welcome

  • Experience using Adobe After Effects, ability to create motion graphics / advanced animations a huge plus

  • Portfolio of strong design and conceptual work will be a key deciding factor

Must provide a portfolio/samples that demonstrate strong fundamental design knowledge.
