Prepare and direct live and taped television news broadcasts utilizing the ROSS Overdrive automated production control system.Build master rundown patterns for all broadcasts, PSA’s, Commercials, etc.Work with editorial and production personnel to create and execute newscasts.Shape overall creative appearance of the broadcasts using imaginative video, audio and graphics effectsGive direction and timing cues to talent and other technicians working on broadcasts. May act as a traditional Director when applicablePerforms other related duties as assigned
WNBC is looking for a Director to:

•Must be willing to work in New York City
•Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
•Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
•Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
•Must be able to work any shift, including weekends and holidays
•*This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement between the Company and the Directors Guild of America (DGA). Successful candidate will be required to join the DGA if not already a member and remain a member in good standing of that Guild.
•Minimum 1 year of experience with Automated Production Control systems ( Ross Overdrive preferred)
•Minimum 3 years of experience directing and/or Automation system operation
•Hands on experience with control room production devices, video switchers, audio consoles, robotics, graphic systems, prompters
•Experience working under pressure in breaking news or deadline driven situations
•Supervisory or Management experience
•Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
•Ability to work well and communicate effectively with others
