The Slowdown is a New York City–based media platform that provides context and clarity around some of the most relevant and pressing issues of our time: culture, nature, and the future. Our podcast, Time Sensitive, features candid, revealing portraits of curious and courageous people in business, the arts, and beyond who have a distinct perspective on time. Our weekly newsletter—organized by See, Touch, Taste, Hear, and Smell—offers suggestions for your senses, delivered every Saturday morning. In addition to our own platform, we collaborate with and create content for global brands.

The Slowdown is looking for a Digital Studio Manager/Producer to join our forward-thinking team at our headquarters in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood. This is a hands-on role where you will be required to manage the planning, production, development, and maintenance of multiple digital platforms. This position reports directly to the company’s co-founders and will serve as a lead organizer of our production workflow and studio environment.


  • Manage projects with the co-founders, coordinating with freelancers in video, design, public relations/marketing, legal, finance, audio, technology, and web development
  • Produce our interview podcast, Time Sensitive, working closely with our audio engineer
  • Deliver social media content, including assets for podcast guests and others featured
  • Create content for and maintain social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn)
  • Conduct market research on an as-needed basis
  • Maintain and track analytics for our podcast, website, newsletter, advertising, and marketing 
  • Design and build visual experience through internal CMS on a weekly basis, coordinating with each guest for image requests
  • Oversee, track, and monitor editorial, production, and marketing budgets
  • Create and maintain filing systems, company best practices, how-to guides, and onboarding documents
  • Develop strategy for marketing, advertising, and press
  • Coordinate with high-level clients on contracted projects in video, editorial, and design
  • Coordinate as needed with web developers, vendors, and internal IT staff
  • Manage all studio operations, including interns and freelancers
  • Organize and schedule photo and video shoots
  • Produce and ship weekly Mailchimp marketing email campaigns/newsletters


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, film, media, or a related field
  • Experience managing projects and working with multiple stakeholders, and prioritizing, delegating, budgeting, and implementing processes
  • Can manage and track various projects at once in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Google’s G Suite and Adobe Suite
  • Competency in Google analytics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong organization and time management
  • Copywriting is a plus
  • Wordpress experience is a plus
  • Podcast production is a plus
  • Advertising and/or marketing experience
  • Social media experience
