Job Summary

RadiaSoft is seeking an early career technical writer with a strong scientific background and an interest in marketing. Effective collaboration with technical, marketing and management personnel is required.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Scientific Technical Writer must effectively convey complex scientific concepts and software technologies to a broad audience. Writing and editing of text is required for websites, wiki pages, brochures, advertisements, software user manuals, social media postings, grant proposals, etc. A core responsibility will be to write commercialization plans for grant proposals, which requires searches of relevant scientific literature, comprehension of business reports on emerging technologies, and effective communication with technical staff. The position requires participation in marketing activities, including representation of RadiaSoft at technical conferences. Success will involve collaboration with management, marketing vendors, product managers, scientific researchers and software developers.

Qualifications and Skills

The successful applicant will have a bachelors degree and at least 3 years of experience in scientific technical writing. A strong portfolio of technical writing examples is required. Other desirable expertise includes an understanding of software development, particle accelerator technology, medical physics, X-ray optics, plasma physics or machine learning. Experience in business development and marketing is also desired.
