UNC-TV seeks an experienced Creative Director to lead, inspire, and manage our creative services team in RTP, North Carolina. The ideal candidate is a creative visionary, has proven managerial skills, and experience as a brand builder for complex organizations. Candidate should have a clear understanding of producing content of utmost creative excellence across platforms including print, digital, and/or broadcast media and experience working with editorial and advertising partners.
The Creative Director will lead the creative development process from setting clear goals, managing capacity of designers and assigning projects accordingly, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, and inspiring the team to produce dynamic content that connects with our diverse audience. This is an opportunity for the ideal candidate to become a leader in a dynamic brand while engaging their own design skillset. The position reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and supervises a small team of design professionals as well as an external network of freelancers and agencies.
This role will act as a guiding force in providing creative vision for the organization and will bring a mix of marketing expertise and business understanding to the position. We’re looking for an experienced leader, someone who can inspire creative excellence, and who can elevate our brand as we continue to grow across platforms.
Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree and at least 8-10 years’ experience creating marketing/advertising campaigns from developing vision and the message platform to overseeing production on time and on budget in a related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience; and at least 5 years of proven and effective people management experience with a brand or product marketing design team. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
