Tech & Learning University is a unique new website specifically targeted to higher education technology directors who are responsible for the purchasing, implementation, and management of technology. 

Job Purpose

As Editor for Tech & Learning University, you will be responsible for the successful and timely development and delivery of all content for the newly launched Tech & Learning University. This will include all digital, custom, and event properties. 

Success will be measured by increased audience engagement and audience growth, sponsor/advertiser satisfaction, and completion to deadline of all tasks. You will look to continuously innovate and evolve content to consistently improve products, identifying new ideas and opportunities and collaborating with the Market Leader to bring those to market.

Key responsibilities

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Content strategy

  • Develop, plan, and execute a content strategy that engages the target audience

  • Work with audience development team to grow target audience following KPIs outlined in the audience and content development strategy.

Manage content that matches the content strategy

  • Assign writers for features, reviews, news items, etc. to ensure we’re meeting the content inventory deadlines and deliverables as outlined in the content strategy plan

  • Post content to website following the content strategy and deadlines outlined by audience development

  • Write a minimum of one original article each week

  • Review story pitches and developing those stories that support content strategy

  • Ensure editorial commissions stay under budget

  • Promote site content daily through social media, newsletters, and other channels

  • Manage syndicated content and secure all needed rights 

  • Develop and manage an advisory board of higher education technology experts

  • Build a community of higher education technology experts to develop content and grow audience 

Support sales & marketing 

  • Provide sales & marketing with weekly content updates to support their efforts; strategize with sales as requested on specific client approaches, and participate in high-level client calls as requested by the Market Leader. 


  • Develop, plan, and manage an event content strategy that engages the target audience

  • Work with event producers to advise on event content, including making speaker recommendations, suggesting event themes and locations, activities, etc. 


  • Manage editorial newsletters and custom newsletters toward successful creation and timely deployment. 

Serve as brand ambassador

  • Manage content for social media accounts to ensure continual audience growth

  • Develop events and content that engage the target audience

  • Promote Tech & Learning University at conferences, events, etc.

  • Moderate event sessions, host webinars/podcasts, etc.

  • Report on edtech conferences and events for magazine, website, and social media

What do I need to succeed?

  • The Tech & Learning University Editor will have a deep understanding of, and passion for, higher education technology. 

  • The position requires a minimum of 5 years experience managing media content that builds audience and advertising opportunities for companies looking to reach the higher education market. 

  • The ideal candidate will not just develop high-quality, provocative content that engages and grows our audience of higher education technology directors, but serve as brand ambassador to build a strong community of higher education technology leaders to develop content and grow audience. 

  • Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Future.
