Role Summary

Cox Communications is looking for a dynamic Product
Manager for Cox’s Residential High-Speed Internet value added services which
includes Email and Security Suite products. 
This individual will work closely with a broad cross-functional team of
Technology, Customer Care, Finance, Operations, Marketing and other internal
business partners. In addition to managing Cox’s current Internet Value Added
Services, this individual will also be responsible for the strategy and roadmap
for new services which will enhance the value of Cox’s High-Speed Internet
product.



 

A successful candidate will have proven
ability to partner across cross-functional teams in a complex matrix
organization, build strong collaborative relationships, communicate effectively
and “get things done” quickly and efficiently. 
He/she will be accountable for, and serve as an authority, for all
aspects of product’s lifecycle including: customer experience, financial and
operating metrics, future enhancement/development priorities, requirements gathering
and development, and product roadmap.  An
ability to clearly and effectively communicate and collaborate across all
functional areas of the   company will be
vital to the success of the person in this role.    



 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define
    roadmap for product functionality and features: Perform due-diligence and
    research, synthesizing information to ensure full scope of current and future
    operational and customer needs are captured.
  • Develop,
    monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators on product and manage ongoing
    vendor relationship.
  • Manage
    vendor relationships and lead contract negotiations with vendors.
  • Partner
    with the Finance team to help drive business case creation and updates, as well
    as validate assumptions.
  • Manage
    project financials against a set budget, including resource management, vendor
    expenses, and development expenses.
  • Assess
    new opportunities to enhance Cox’s portfolio of Value Added Services, keeping
    up to date with industry trends and customer demand.
  • Assessment
    and deep-dive due diligence in order to help make key business decisions and
    drive resolution of critical issues, partnering with technology, customer
    support (Care) and other key organizations. 
  • Partner
    with Cox’s media sales team to monitor and evaluate advertising revenue.
    Identify opportunities to increase advertising revenue on email web properties.
  • Assist
    and drive development of executive presentations.
  • Write
    detailed and thorough documentation such as concept documents, product fact
    books, product strategy, business requirements, and test and validation
    strategy.
  • Partner
    with Technology to drive resolution of issues and defects, optimize operational
    performance and hardiness, and drive robust testing, QA and validation
    strategies.
  • Collaborate
    with Marketing and Customer Care to define go-to-market strategy, product,
    positioning, key benefits.
  • For
    new product launches, manage development of training curriculum and internal
    support articles/resources in partnership with Training Development team, Care
    (customer support), Sales and other key internal partners.
  • Create,
    manage, and execute against project timelines with participation from key
    internal partners. Mitigate risks that impact ability to meet key project
    dates.


Requirements

  • Strong
    problem solving and critical thinking skills. Proven ability to make
    recommendations by gathering appropriate data and information, seeking out the
    right subject matter experts, asking smart questions and working linearly and
    systematically through complex issues - quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent
    analytical skills and financial acumen. Must be able to use and make
    connections across data and analytics coming from various sources to glean key
    insights that help drive business decisions.
  • Demonstrated
    ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, dynamic environment with
    quickly evolving priorities across a broad range of functional areas.
  • Highly
    self-motivated and results-oriented: can work and operate with latitude using
    his/her independent judgment, within operational parameters.  Takes responsibility and has a sense of
    urgency to act upon “what needs to be done”, informing and involving his/her
    manager as needed. Is able to self-manage meeting key project dates.
  • Ability
    to effectively translate technical terminology to a non-technical audience,
    i.e, Customer Support, Marketing.
  • Must
    be able to build and maintain good working relationships across
    cross-functional partners.  Facilitates
    agreement, socializes proposals, and gains commitment from partners to support
    ideas, strategy, and work prioritization. 
  • Prior
    experience leading cross functional teams.
  • Excellent
    written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to concisely convey
    complex issues or ideas in a clear, organized manner both verbally, and in
    writing and with strong PowerPoint skills.  
















Qualifications

Minimum

  • 7+
    years of experience; 5+ years with advanced degree. Experience can include internships and work during educational years.
  • Well-honed
    written and verbal communication skills. 
    Strong executive presence.
  • Demonstrated
    ability to perform in high pressure, matrix management environment.
  • Strong
    data analysis skills.
  • Solid
    financial and business acumen.










Preferred

  • Bachelor’s
    degree, preferably in a related field (e.g. Business, Engineering, Finance,
    Marketing, etc.)
  • Previous
    Product Management experience in a Technology, Managed Services or Software.
  • Development
    field strongly preferred.
  • Experience
    in a role with Vendor management responsibilities.
  • MBA
    or other advanced degree in related field.
  • Strong
    time management and prioritization skills with a demonstrated ability to
    execute against multiple projects and succeed in a fast-paced, results-oriented
    work environment.
