Role Purpose
The Asset Management Engineer will be part of the Reliability & Performance team and will be responsible for maintaining the availability and security of all media assets used by NBC’s Direct-to-Consumer platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Defining asset management policies in conjunction with Intellectual Property team
  • Working with video engineering and CDN teams to ensure that all media assets are stored securely, reliably, and according to industry best practices
  • Monitor the availability of all assets and associated hosting environments
  • Coordinate with Cyber Security team to perform regular penetration testing and vulnerability scanning of all infrastructure and working with engineering teams to review and remediate any reported vulnerabilities
  • Review cloud infrastructure and CDN configuration changes to ensure that systems remain fully secure and compliant with asset management policies


  • Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant field
    • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a cyber security or asset management role
    • Knowledge of secure coding practices and OWASP and SANS vulnerabilities
    • Expertise in content security technologies such as Digital Rights Management and content encryption techniques
    • Understanding of multiple cloud computing platforms and CDNs

    • Experience with a digital media direct-to-consumer business highly preferred
    • Security certification a plus
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical colleagues and executives
    • Ability to understand large complex software systems and their interdependencies
