NBCUniversal is hiring a Director, Editorial CMS and Operations to join the newly created Platforms Editorial team in the Direct to Consumer business. We are looking for an approachable and calm yet highly competitive candidate who is adept at swiftly handling change in a constantly evolving industry.
The Platforms Editorial team will be tasked with ensuring the readiness of the streaming library by managing the artwork, metadata and related assets that power the streaming library, including alternative and custom assets used in audience segmentation and multi-variate testing. It is a 24/7 operation responsible for updating content based on performance, programming tactics and events unfolding in real time, working in coordination with the Product, Marketing and Customer Support teams in addition to other stakeholders.
The role of Editorial CMS and Operations is designed to own the editorial team's relationship with the tech stack. Creating requirements and writing user stories based on the editorial needs, working with the various technology teams to implement the features, as well acceptance testing. This role also owns training the larger editorial team on how to use the tool, new features and new processes. They help set standards for process and the use of these tools, while constantly looking for ways to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and flexibility of the platforms.
Sometimes things don’t happen as we planned. The Director, Editorial CMS and Operations will be tasked with finding solutions quickly to often complex problems, at times using methods outside the normal tech stack. The successful candidate for this role will bring hands-on experience managing complex publishing projects, aptitude with a variety of content management systems and a sense of personal responsibility for the excellence of their work while understanding the business importance of specific deadlines and goals.
-At least 5 years experience publishing at a large scale editorial, e-commerce or video service.
-Deep experience publishing across digital platforms, web, mobile, connected devices, game consoles, smart TVs.
-Excellent user story creation skills, with the ability to distill and impart complex and/or subtle requirements in an easy to understand fashion to technologists and user experience teams.
-Demonstrable ability to manage an ever-changing content pipeline.
-Excellent writing and presentation skills.
-A history of establishing KPIs and targets, and then working to hit those goals.
-Ability to work at Universal Studios, Los Angeles, California.
-Jira experience preferred
-A passion for television and movies.
