Associate General Manager for Programming and Content Position # 19004817
Temple University Radio is seeking an Associate GM for Programming and Content to join our dynamic Classical and Jazz Station. Reporting to Temple University's WRTI Operations, General Manager, the Associate General Manager for Programming and Content directly manages the programming, production, and digital departments of WRTI. Using a combination of vision, insight, sound judgment, and analytics, the associate general manager leverages content across broadcast and digital platforms to maximize audience service and value. The associate general manager manages a staff of full-time and part-time positions. The associate general manager oversees the acquisition and development of all new programming, including working with external content partners to identify, nurture, and present new content to WRTI's audience. He/she provides leadership and policy development as a member of the management team. Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of directly related experience. Experience in classical music and jazz including historical and contemporary knowledge of major eras/periods, performers, composers, and styles. Bachelor's degree with seven (7) years of directly related experience preferred. Previous on air experience in public broadcasting as a programmer, host, manager. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to strategize, analyze and implement activities to increase the Nielsen radio ratings and online analytics
- Ability to understand and support the WRTI Mission Statement, the WRTI Code of Integrity and WRTI's long range plans
- Ability to represent WRTI at selected events
- Ability to work extended hours on occasion; nights/weekends/early mornings
- Occasionally serve as an on-air fill-in host
