The Partner Development team is responsible for managing and growing SmartBrief’s external partnerships. These partners include more than 180 leading trade associations, professional societies, nonprofits and corporate entities.

Job Purpose

The SmartBrief Partner Development team is seeking an entry-level employee to work as part of a team-oriented, entrepreneurial corporate environment in our exciting office in downtown Washington, DC. The Partner Development Associate will manage partnerships, as well as providing support to the rest of the team. The successful candidate will proactively improve processes that help the team more effectively cultivate strong relationships with SmartBrief’s partners. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of account management, including day-to-day, frontline contact with specific clients to ensure superior service.

  • Develop and execute strategic growth and renewal plans.

  • Manage strategic projects of the Partner Development team, helping to organize tasks and ensure it is completed on time.

  • Collaborate with other departments, including Sales, Marketing, Content, and Tech, to innovate and problem solve.

  • Achieve mastery of SmartBrief’s proprietary publishing software in order to help the team execute subscription growth campaigns and measure their success.

What do I need to succeed?

  • At least 1 year of relevant client service experience. B-to-B media company or creative agency/design/publicity firm background preferred.

  • A strong sense of organization with strict attention to detail. Project management experience is preferred.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel is required. Proficiency with other software packages, such as SalesForce or similar CRM software, is a plus.

  • Demonstrated flexibility to manage multiple tasks, solve problems and schedule work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Energetic, adaptive and fast learner with a keen determination to work in an environment that caters to total customer satisfaction.

  • Critical thinker/Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Copywriting and/or editing experience is preferred.

  • Dedication to meeting quarterly and annual growth targets.

  • Strong academic achievement.

  • Legal right to work in the United States.
