The New York Post video team is seeking a studio manager to support our production efforts. Can-do attitude and journalism standards of reliability are key. 

Must be fluent in studio equipment, lighting, blocking, support, and general maintenance of a studio. Our producers and staff will rely on you to be the key behind-the-scenes person to help bring compelling, fun and informative videos to the audience! From new formats in digital video to gathering vital stories to helping craft more livestreams, there is a lot of creative opportunity in this role.

Must also possess solid shooting skills as this role will helm simple studio shoots and serve as the occasional second camera in the field. Deep knowledge of cameras (Canon Cinema c100 / c300) and lenses a must. 

This role is most often a 40 hour a week role. The amount of work is consistent but sometimes the hours of each day varies slightly depending on shoot; having a flexible schedule to start earlier or end later is key. Seeking even keeled person with the ability to roll with any last minute changes.

The job:

Manage studio space: support all studio users, track and update inventory, suggest studio improvements (both physical space and equipment); manage equipment borrowing process; inventory and maintain all equipment; be a MacGyver for repairs and troubleshooting. 

Manage studio equipment - cameras, backdrops, props and general maintenance. 
Studio design: manage lighting grid and lighting board, green screen, all sets; suggest improvements; perform light maintenance and upgrades. 
Run solo in studio shoots, lead multi-camera in studio shoots, help shoot outside building, multiple mic set-ups, newsroom shooting
Expertise in live streaming software a plus 
Experience taping audio productions a plus (as our studio doubles as podcast studio.) 
Ability to move props, couches and sets for new studio looks.  
Partner support: Support third parties using studios, voiceover booth and newsroom.
Miscellaneous logistics: Keep soundbooth equipment up to date; control room edit oversight 


Experience with ETC Element lighting control board (or equivalent) a big bonus
Experience setting up and shooting with Canon Cinema video cameras (c100 / c300)
Experience with Wirecast and/or other equivalent livestream software. Follow rapidly changing technology. 
Experience setting up, lighting and shooting on green screen
2-3 years using Adobe Premiere 
Simple edit and post production skills are a plus.
