Corporate Communications Specialist

The Specialist, Corporate Communications will work closely with the Sr. Manager to dream up and deliver impactful programs to drive Cox Enterprises’ corporate reputation. Whether executing campaigns or helping to manage events, this role will be instrumental in positioning our company as an Employer of Choice and Premier Investment Partner. We’re looking for a collaborative team player who is ready to roll up their sleeves and support the team. Don’t be afraid to color outside the lines. We’re looking to test out new ideas, and we want your input to improve our work and impact.Responsibilities:Research leadership narratives and impactful facts, figures and insights that help tell the story behind our business and connect to market trends and world affairs. Support the development of executive briefings and talking points that prepare our leaders for a range of events – from high-profile engagements to every day volunteer activities.Support the planning and execution of high-profile employee and leadership events.Support internal and external communications campaigns that support our strategic initiatives, including new Cox investments in exciting arenas like cleantech and esports. Draft well-written creative briefings to kickoff initiatives with our Creative Studio team.Transition seamlessly between writing for media, the web and other channels.Partner with broader Corporate Comms team to support a variety of projects, as needed, reflecting the Cox spirit and culture.Assign and track metrics to determine campaign effectiveness and be comfortable reporting back to leadership on a regular cadence. Track timelines, vendors and deliverables to ensure projects run on schedule and within budget. Partner with internal stakeholders like our Creative Studio team to ensure visual content like videos and graphics are fun, engaging and innovative.Work at a fast pace and on tight deadlines. Some days, you may have a “drop everything” moment where you need to shift priorities to support unexpected needs.
- 3+ years of experience in public relations and/or corporate communications
- Efficient executor and team player
- Able to manage time and juggle multiple priorities to execute high-quality deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal skills required (samples requested)
- Competency in MS Office (especially PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field preferred
