NBCNews.com is looking for a multiplatform video distribution coordinator. The qualified candidate should be familiar with all of the NBC News brands, be a strategic thinker, familiar with working in a breaking news environment and have a passion for the news. This is a freelance position primarily working on a Wednesday – Sunday schedule which may be subject to change due to the news cycle.
Job duties:Responsible for curating the NBC News app on OTTManage the distribution of videos across NBCNews.com on the weekendsHandle weekend distribution of videos to external partnersProgram off net platforms with videos from across the brands and help continue to grow NBC News video on those platformsBrainstorm initiatives and ideas to increase NBC News awareness on OTT and external platformsAssist in managing the archive process of original productionsManage bookings of the NBC Digital StudioFacilitate repairs of company owned equipmentAssist with the camera inventory checkout process
• Knowledge of the NBC News brands
• Familiarity with the OTT platform and video distribution tools
• An understanding of video curation and how video is shared across platforms
• Experience with editing tools such as Avid and/or Premiere
• Experience with handling various cameras and other video equipment
