The Studio technician provides studio support for all of our live and taped production.  The studio tech will operate cameras, perform A2 duties and stage manage.  The individual will work directly with technical staff to satisfy all production requests under the supervision of the show’s director and tech manager.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate studio cameras and jibs as instructed by show Director as well as stage manage, as needed, for all NY based shows
  • Perform audio with A1 from all mic and IFB positions in studio before every production
  • Set up (pre-set, dress) and remove all mics and IFBs from talent and guests
  • Maintain the integrity studio appearance and all associated audio equipment including mics, IFBs, batteries, cables etc., notifying Operations management should either need repair, replacement or maintenance
  • Maintain and inventory studio sets and props
  • Willingness and ability to train others as needed

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a facility (network, station, production house) engaged in multiple live camera production
  • Experience with using a studio camera and robotic systems preferred
  • Ability to execute cleanly on air in a high stress, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and work on deadline.
  • ENPS knowledge a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills required
  • Must be a collaborative team player who works well with others, in a fast paced, dynamic studio environment
  • Available to work flexible, non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays
