The Editorial Assistant will assist our Text Editor, Production Coordinator and Director.


This position collaborates daily with team members to facilitate a productive work flow and maximized accuracy in the product.








Write Restaurant Texts and contribute editorial content to support the Red Guide print and digital needs.


Assist Text Editor with management of social media content: to include content creation, procurement and organization.


Maintain social media calendar for Text Editor


Research trends and opportunities


Compose statistics and fact sheets


Coordinate the editorial and production process in house


Collaborate with all external departments (Communications, Production, Design, etc.)


Provide administrative support




During content review cycle:


Assist with printing and organization of proofs


Support Production Coordinator on review of proofs


Enter text and data corrections


Oversee review of lists and enter all corrections


Collate binders of final proofs


Coordinate with Text Editor and Director on review of covers




Skills & Requirements:


Must live in the New York City area


Software: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite


Must have a strong writing background


Must be detail oriented, organized and meet deadlines


Able to prioritize and multi-task


Solid and direct communication skills


Collaborative but ability to work independently


Flexible, handles change well


An affinity for the culinary arts




Foreign language skills a plus
