Job Purpose:
The Vice President, Media Strategy and Planning is responsible for leading the development of comprehensive media strategies for NBC Entertainment that drive awareness, buzz and tune-in for scripted, non-scripted, and late-night properties. The position is integrated requiring a strong background in both digital and traditional media. This role will report to the Senior Vice President, Media Strategy & Planning for NBC Entertainment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Works with Senior Vice President to manage the development of data-driven media campaigns, ensuring that all plans are strategically sound and have a clear point-of-view, and align with overall marketing strategy.
  • Assist the Senior Vice President with media budget investments across both short and long-term projects and upfront commitments etc.
  • Serve as the liaison with the media analytics team on all measurement and attribution projects ensuring that learnings are applied wherever possible.
  • Work with the affiliate and partner marketing teams sharing media plan strategy and details while looking for ways to optimize and enhance NBCE’s overall presence.
  • Oversee the communication and documentation of standard and non-traditional creative development and deliverable needs, from various media vendors to media agency to NBC media to all NBC creative/production departments, and back to media agency/vendors.
  • Maintain and provide finance with weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reconciliations and reports for media spend pacing, agency billing forecasting, planned-to-actual media reconciliations, multicultural investments etc.
  • Review all media-related invoices for accuracy and submit for approval in accordance with company and multi-agency terms and policies.
  • Lead the day-to-day work flow across an internal paid media team and an external media agency.
  • Represent NBC in the development and maintenance of numerous media vendor relationships in order to provide leadership and support to both vendors and agencies in producing efficient, effective traditional and non-traditional media ideas and executions.
  • Assist the Senior Vice President with any ad-hoc projects/requests


  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing, Communications/Advertising, or Media Studies preferred
    • Minimum 12 years of experience in media planning
    • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience
    • Media agency experience required
