The Office of Communications and Marketing in the College of Agriculture and Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station is seeking applicants for a Communications and Marketing Specialist III who will fulfill the following responsibilities:

*Write news releases and feature stories for the College of Agriculture and the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station (AAES).
*Integrate news releases, feature stories and related materials within multimedia contexts, including blogs, social media, video and more.
*Distribute news releases among local, state, regional and national media.
*Target story pitches to local, state, regional and national media.
*Serve as copy editor for all college and AAES marketing materials and for news and feature stories written by other writers for the college or AAES.
*Serve as managing editor of The Season magazine and blog. Editorial duties include but are not limited to story planning, development of production timelines, organization of planning and production meetings, writing and photography assignments, deadline assignments and copy editing.
*Write a variety of marketing materials for student recruitment, fundraising and related purposes.
*Manage the agcomm@auburn.edu email account.
*Other duties as assigned by the director of communications and marketing.  

Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or a related field; four years of experience in marketing and communications services; and a working knowledge of the AP Stylebook as well as professional experience as a copywriter or journalist.

Employer may consider an advanced related degree in lieu of experience.

Desired qualifications include basic photography and video skill for publication on news blog, and basic social media experience. 

The candidate selected for the position must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States by the start date and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
