PROGRAM DETAILS
Penguin Random House offers a 10-week PAID internship opportunity available in our adult, children’s, and corporate divisions. Interns are exposed to the publishing process and our business through panels, networking events, employee speaker series, and even lunch with our CEO!

Summer interns work for 28 hours per week and are paid $20hr. Summer housing will be available for up to 10 selected interns. To be eligible, you must be a rising college senior, a graduate; and/or any candidate available for full-time employment within 1 year. *You need not be enrolled in college or have a degree to apply to our internship program.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONS:
Contracts
The Contracts department manages the process of drafting a book contract and all of the other products for which the company acquires rights. They negotiate the fine points with the author or other proprietors. After the contracts are signed, the contracts department communicates with various internal departments about the details contained in each contract that may affect their business or authors.

Finance
Finance is involved with everything that has a financial impact on the company, including sales forecasting, cost of goods, production, inventory, and the balance sheet for a title, imprint, or division. Finance liaises with every other department regarding corporate perspective, policies, and systems.

IT
Our IT professionals build and support the applications, infrastructure and networks that empower the business. 

Royalties
The Royalties department focuses on ensuring the integrity of the author contract as it relates to payment and financial author care. 

Operations
Manage relationships with key vendors to ensure that our books are of a high quality and produced on schedule. Forecast inventory levels to determine when and how many books need to be reprinted.
