TODAY Digital, the multi-platform arm of the TODAY Show, is seeking a reporter/editor to work a Sunday-Thursday schedule. The ideal candidate would:
-Have an appreciation for TODAY’s broad ranges of topics and personalities: you’ll be asked to cover a number of issues, from hard news to lifestyle. Applicants must display the ability to tell any story – regardless of content type – on any platform (sit, social, app, newsletter, OTT, etc.) and under a time crunch. Calm and creative thinks only apply.
-Love everything about pop culture. Are you the person who sees celeb news before anyone else and follows more stars on Instagram than your own friends? Turn your passion for pop culture news into a creative celebrity-focused stories that intersect with our other lifestyle verticals, from home to parenting to food and more. Candidates must have a gut instinct for a good story, quick decisiveness on angles and assignments, and a fun, clear, TODAY-friendly voice. You must be able to break down trending stories into digestible bites and identify strong quotes from live interviews.

-Be organized and independent: candidates will work a Sunday-Thursday schedule – meaning one day of work will occur without the safety net of managers and fellow news editors. As a result, candidates must display superior organizational skills. This is a unique opportunity to lead a complex news organization. Applicants should display a mentoring spirit. The candidate will work with editors on different teams – all working on different tasks and moving at different speeds. If you run towards problems, disarm them with little to no issues, then this is the job for you.
-Be obsessed with social and storytelling: applicants must be infatuated with social platforms, as well as creating heartwarming/life-altering content for those platforms. If you spend your evenings thinking about how stories are shared and consumed across digital, social and mobile platforms, then this is the job for you.
-Love data: candidates must display a knack for using analytics to help guide story selection.

Basic Qualifications:
-Must have 3+ years of newsroom experience
-Working knowledge of social, video production and online publishing tools
-Bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, Journalism History or a relate field of study
-Previous experience working with iNews
