Finds and acquires development projects in keeping with Focus’s overall slate strategy (pitches, specs, blinds, books, articles, podcasts etc.) and packages as and when.
The VP, Production Development will source, procure and manage film projects at various stages, budget sizes and genres for the Focus Features slate.
Project manages films (s)he has brought in, and those s(he) is assigned to, from development through to release as appropriate.
Establishes and maintains relationships with key providers and NBCUniversal colleagues, in conjunction with department leaders and other executives.
Specifically knowledgeable and maintains a robust knowledge of writers to engage with at each stage of a project.
Identifies and establishes relationships with both established and emerging filmmakers.
In conjunction with department leaders, manages junior creative on each project s(he) is leading.
Minimum 10 years of experience in scripted content development or production.

Experience within the film industry at a studio or film production company is highly preferred.
Proven track record and expertise working on films from development through to post-production and all the responsibilities that process requires in terms of providing notes, managing filmmaker relationships, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of story structure.
Track record of working effectively with peers, colleagues, and superiors, with a special emphasis on communicating creative goals and the value of intellectual properties to various constituents.
Well-established relationships in the film development and production space, including, but not limited to, agents, managers, writers, directors, and producers.
An artist-friendly personality, someone who deeply values the creative process.
