Role Summary:
The Film Content Strategy and Business Development department is a highly visible group that works closely with high-profile management across Comcast and NBCUniversal worldwide. The group works in conjunction with other business units within the Filmed Entertainment Group of NBCU on a wide range of strategic initiatives including identifying key growth opportunities as well as operating efficiencies, examining film financing & acquisition deals, release dating and managing the film greenlight process.

The Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG) is the motion picture division of NBCUniversal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies. UFEG develops, produces, markets and distributes feature films on a worldwide basis across all consumer platforms. UFEG’s films are released under several owned film labels that include Universal Pictures, Focus Features, Illumination and DreamWorks. We are seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Manager, Film Content Strategy. This position will manage strategic planning activities across UFEG. Specific projects will include research, analysis, modeling, and recommendations related to emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, M&A or strategic investments, competitive threats, and internal business performance improvement. The position offers unique exposure to a wide variety of businesses within the media and entertainment industry.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with groups across the Universal Filmed Entertainment Group to formulate a view of the competitive landscape
  • Facilitate long-range planning activities and models, including presenting to senior leadership
  • Develop various materials for consideration to improve the tactical execution or long-term strategy of the Film group, including examining film financing & acquisition deals, release dating, and managing the film greenlight process
  • Formulate presentations for executive management on current UFEG initiatives
  • Preparing financial models related to film acquisition, film financing, production and distribution

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 3+ years relevant industry experience (strategic planning, management consulting, business development or investment banking, ideally in the entertainment industry).

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
