collaborative, data-driven leader that understands the value of delivering
outstanding customer experiences to lead our Autotrader performance marketing


The Senior Manager is the main day to day
leader for Autotrader’s national performance marketing campaigns and is a key
influencer on corporate media strategy. This individual is responsible for
supervising the performance marketing agency, mentoring direct reports,
developing and maintaining strong relationships amongst cross-functional teams
within marketing/marketing technology/analytics/finance/product/decision
science while partnering with leadership to understand, assign, drive, achieve
and regularly report upon specific business goals.


The successful candidate will play a
pivotal role in amplifying the strategy, management and execution of
cost-effective national marketing programs including but not limited to paid
Search Engine Marketing, Display (Programmatic, Remarketing, Prospecting,
Native), Social and multiple external partnerships. He or she should be detail
oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced, cutting-edge, test and learn
culture that guides continuous improvement.




  • Be a Leader
  • Lead Performance Marketing planning and
    be seen as the main point of contact for all things Autotrader (paid
    Search Engine Marketing, Display, social, external partnerships, sitewide
    traffic trends, etc.)
  • Develop and
    execute integrated, multi-channel, Brand and Performance marketing campaigns
    on a national scale to drive growth, multi-product engagement and brand
  • Lead agencies to
    flawlessly plan, execute, optimize, improve and present all paid Search
    Engine Marketing, native, display/social campaigns including but not
    limited to annual planning, daily/weekly calls, reporting, test results,
  •  Participate in producing, analyzing and
    presenting business projects such as Media Mix Modeling as well as
    monthly/annual Upfronts/forecasting
  • Be a Disruptor
  • Identify areas of
    opportunity for Autotrader through innovation by leveraging emerging
    trends, market evaluation and analytical insights
  • Brainstorm
    disruptive marketing strategies, develop POVs and launch tactics to
    reinforce Autotrader’s unique value proposition and rigorously test and
    evaluate ideas within a consumer-centric framework alongside agencies,
    vendors, analytics, finance, decision science, and marketing technology
    to add value back to the brand
  • Keep abreast of
    emerging technologies, competitive insights and the digital industry
    trends to push innovation and thought leadership on an ongoing basis
  • Be a Storyteller
  • Leverage
    storytelling ability to describe marketing’s impact on the business and
    the influential role it plays when helping consumers through the vehicle
    shopping process.
  • Be a Collaborator
  • Effectively
    partner with internal stakeholders such as product, marketing analytics,
    marketing technology, decision sciences, finance and others to enhance
    product offerings, data accuracy, forecasting capabilities, etc.
  • Regularly
    collaborate with agency, analytics and decision science to modify budgets
    for efficient spending and maximizing ROI
  • Own relationships
    with external partners including direct partnerships with vendors and
    others to ensure business alignment, expectations and traffic goals are
  • Compile
    documentation and work with Tech leads to enhance first party data
    tracking and push product ideas for implementation (pixels, feeds,
    audience management, etc.)
  • Be a Mentor
  • Manage, mentor,
    inspire and coach direct report to seamlessly manage deliverables,
    maintain budget documentation, billing, department communication,
    reporting, meeting organization, etc.        

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing,
    Communications or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in
    Marketing, preferably with a strong media background in digital,
    specifically Paid Search + Display + Social
  • Strong business acumen with ability
    to leverage data and insights into actionable results
  • Strong written, verbal,
    problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and
    prioritize heavy work load and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience planning and overseeing
    a national campaign(s) with multi-million-dollar marketing budget.
  • Strong business acumen, with the
    ability to work effectively with senior leaders and other key stakeholders
    throughout the organization
  • Experience managing direct reports,
    advertising agencies and vendors, advertising agency experience a plus
