DreamWorks Animation Television has an exciting new opportunity for an Editor (Animatic) to join its in-house team in Glendale, CA. Our Editors (Animatic) generate timed video of storyboard panels, audio, and sound effects to serve as animation reference. Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:Responsible for generating a rough assembly cut of the episode based on the Director’s notes and visionEnsure that the rough assembly is reviewed and approved by the Director and other creative department headsIncorporate notes to ensure the animatic timing is appropriate for the showAdd temporary sound effects and music from sound librariesEnsure appropriate production staff are aware of any temp music, dialogue, and quality issuesParticipate in clean animatic pitch sessions and animatic screeningsWork with Directors to address animatic notes, provide revisions, and clarify feedback for screeningsAfter final screening generate an output of a locked animatic and forward to ProductionEnsure production staff is made aware of pickup lines and scratch dialog done in EditorialResponsible for timely execution of deliverablesPartner with production to ensure issues or concerns with regards to the schedule are elevated as needed
● Previous editing experience
● Knowledge of Premiere editing software preferred
● Strong verbal and written communication skills
● Proven ability to manage time and meet deadlines
● Experience working in a fast-paced environment
● Having experience cutting comedy is a must.
● Cutting in a board-driven environment recommended.
● Animation editing experience preferred
● Working knowledge of Storyboard Pro, Flix, Photoshop, and After Effects is useful
● Ability to work in a high-pressure environment under tight deadlines
● Understanding of animation principles
● Bachelor’s degree preferred
