The Random House Group, a division of Penguin Random House, is seeking a Media Planning Assistant to join the Integrated Marketing department in support Content Services and Media Planning. This in-house creative team works across all genres and is dedicated to managing the campaign planning process and creating promotional content for the group’s titles. The Media Planning Assistant will be responsible for tracking and managing the group’s creative projects through cross-collaboration with title marketing, copywriting, and design to ensure strategies align with objectives and paid media needs. This is an entry-level position and a great opportunity for hands-on media planning/buying experience and professional growth.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 
* Management of a high volume of marketing requests, including project set-up, execution, and close-out
* Ensuring proper assignments and processes are in place prior to project launch
* Create daily communications and reports to provide status updates and enact follow-up to ensure timely deliveries
* Coordinate physical creative production needs, including printing of posters, postcards, bookplates, merchandise, and trade show materials as needed
* Support the Assistant Director of Digital Campaigns & Media Planning with advertising buys, including campaign set-up, trafficking, and vendor correspondence
* Assist with new vendor research, onboarding, and setting up meetings as needed
* Invoice processing, payment, and tracking
* Inputting advertising plans into our internal system for record-keeping and analysis


Requirements: 
* Minimum 1-year relevant advertising/marketing work or internship experience in Advertising, Multi-Media, Marketing, Promotions and/or Public Relations industry
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with schedule management
* Ability to effectively manage own time and to-do list while juggling multiple tasks for a high-volume department
* Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate positively with and support efforts of the larger team
* Attention to detail and self-motivated learner  
* Competence with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google documents; familiarity with Microsoft Excel a plus!
* Experience in work management software like WorkFront, Asana, and/or Filemaker Pro is also a plus
* Experience with popular social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram
