As an Anchor Production Assistant, you will work directly with Katy Tur and producers to assist in production of live news.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Provide daily support by managing calendars and coordinating media appearances• Schedule and book travel when needed• Organize and schedule meetings and interviews• Prepare briefing notes, one sheets, and scripts• Print scripts and ensure anchor is prepared for live broadcast, act as liaison between studio and control room during live broadcast• Assist in compiling research, maintaining on air updates during live program• Work closely with producers to research, select, and locate required footage for broadcast• Create on-air graphics as directed by producers

Basic Qualifications:

• At least one year of news production experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of interest in current events, politics, and public affairs
• Must be willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, often with short notice

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Political Science, History or related field
• Knowledge of politics, history and current events
• Excellent Organizational Skills
• Able to work under deadline pressure and handle multiple projects at once
• Knowledge of Avid/Interplay, iNews and research databases including LexisNexis, ProQuest, and EBSCO preferred
• Must be willing to work overtime, nights, holidays, and weekends, often with short notice
