You will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives. If you have experience working on ETL pipelines and love thinking about how data models and schemas should be architected, we want to hear from you.

As a Data Engineer at GoNoodle, you will...

  • Build, monitor, and maintain analytics data pipelines
  • Support existing processes running in production
  • Implement systems for tracking data quality and consistency
  • Work closely with Data, Product, Operations, Marketing, and Sales teams to understand data and analysis requirements
  • Work with teams to continue to evolve data models and data flows to enable analytics for decision making

Strong candidates will bring the following experience and skill sets:

  • 8+ years experience in analytics, dimensional modeling, and ETL optimization
  • 4+ years experience with procedural programming languages (e.g. Python, R)
  • 4+ years of experience with data handling/ETL, including working with large unstructured datasets
  • Has experience with writing SQL queries
  • Possesses strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval
  • Has built large-scale data pipelines professionally and can craft code in R, Python, and/or SQL
  • Has built batch data pipelines with relational database engines, and understands their respective strengths and weaknesses
  • Has experience with cloud platforms, preferably Amazon Web Services
  • Is a strong communicator. Explaining complex technical concepts to product managers, support, and analysts is no problem for you
  • Has experience with MPP data warehouses (Redshift, Snowflake, or similar)
  • Is someone that others enjoy working with due to your technical competence and positive attitude

Desired Qualifications

  • BS/BA in technical field, computer science or mathematics
  • Experience working with AWS, or an AWS Associate level certification
  • Experience building simple scripts and web applications using Python
  • Experience with Linux and Shell scripting
