About the Role:
The Spruce Eats is looking for food photographers to remotely style, shoot and retouch recipes and other food-related content while adhering to our brand guidelines. This individual must have an eye for food styling and a passion for photography with a foundational culinary knowledge. You will be working out of your own home/studio.
We are looking for a wide variety of diverse cuisines to be photographed and are open to photographers who are experts in specialized cuisine!

About Your Contributions:
- Gather fresh, photogenic ingredients and use on-brand props for shoots
- Photograph/style various stages of prep for each recipe from start to finished product in accordance with style guide
- Determine lighting, composition, background, props and product set up as well as any additional specifications to ensure quality shooting
- Follow direction from and collaborate with Photo Director to work efficiently and meet project deadlines
- Edit and retouch photos
About You:
- 3+ years professional experience with food photography, food styling and retouching
- Extensive knowledge of lighting food, both naturally and artificially
- Proficiency with Photoshop and Lightroom
- A portfolio of food photography that demonstrates the above knowledge
- Ability to work well independently
- Interest in photographing a wide variety of different foods preferred
