The Wall Street Journal’s Opinion section is looking for a talented editor to join our book review
team in New York as an Associate Books Editor. This person will be responsible
for editing daily and weekend book reviews tailored for the global audience of the Journal’s print
edition and website, and copy editing reviews assigned by other editors. In coordination with
fellow book-review editors, they will assign reviews to freelance contributors on topics including
business, history, politics, science, literature and other fields. The Associate Books Editor will
also compose the online newsletter text and coordinate the presentation of book reviews for
online, mobile apps and other channels.
- College graduate with at least 8+ years editing and copy-editing experience, preferably
with an emphasis on nonfiction or journalistic prose.
- It is essential that candidates be familiar with the ideas, philosophy and principles for
which the Wall Street Journal editorial page stands.
- Flexible to do weekend/evening work as required.
