Associate Producer

Duration: Full-Time

We are looking for a highly motivated, proactive and creative Associate Producer to join the team! As an Associate Producer you have keen editorial skills. You are an avid consumer of News media—from network, cable, and radio broadcasts, to print and online media. You are a pro-active, passionate and self-motivated individual. You are a team player that works well with diverse editorial staffs, guests, and technical teams.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write conversational day-of scripts
  • Pitch guest segment ideas with a clear media focus
  • Identify news, select video and sound bites, oversee editing, conduct interviews and write stories for television and the internet
  • Pitch stories daily
  • Build graphics and lower thirds that help emphasize and enlighten the viewer
  • Serve as backup line producer
  • Handle guest segments by prepping talent, scripting lead-ins, writing questions and video

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 2 years of television news experience
  • Strong interest in how the media covers the news
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, multitask, and prioritize on a daily basis-especially in breaking news situations
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Familiarity with working in a fast-paced news environment
