The Story with Martha MacCallum is seeking an experienced Booker/Field Producer to join the team. The ideal candidate is an energetic and proactive self-starter with a positive attitude who will build upon prior relationships with high-profile guests to book strong newsmakers and exclusive interviews on a daily basis. As a booker, you are also prepared to set up shoots, interviews, and town halls in the field.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Book guests under the deadline pressure of a daily live show
- Track down difficult-to-find people using social media & other tools
- Work collaboratively with co-workers to determine the best approach to securing high-profile interviews
- Book guests for “The Untold Story” Podcast
- Pitch unique stories and guests of interest to our audience
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of prior television (or similar) experience
- Ability to establish/build relationships with guests and high profile newsmakers
- Ability to maintain those relationships when bookings need to be canceled or rescheduled
- Willingness to see the big picture, and put the show's best interests above all else
- Understanding that the news never stops, and some work may be required outside regular hours
