We are looking for a Sports Writer to join the FoxNews.com team! As the Sports Writer you will report and aggregate stories from a wide range of sources, covering breaking, and trending news. The Sports Writer role is critical to helping FoxNews.com continue to drive and dominate the sports news conversation.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report on breaking news and sports events. Write quickly and precisely to help solidify Fox News as the go-to site for developing stories
- Produce high volume story count
- Maintain SEO excellence for every story
- Maintaining proper style and knowing the Fox News audience and ‘voice’
- Present all stories, original, breaking, and aggregated, in an accessible, consistent, and compelling style
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- At least 2 years' experience covering news
- Passion for sports
- Very strong writing skills
- Knowledge of AP style is vital
- Must have a firm grasp of current events and a desire to be precise, quick, and accurate in presenting the news to the vast FoxNews.com audience
- Ability to work under deadlines/pressure in a fast-paced newsroom environment is crucial
- Ability to work well with editors and fellow writers
- Flexibility and willingness to potentially work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in sports news
