Fox News Media seeks a Creative Director to lead marketing design across core brands – Fox Nation, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, and Fox Weather. The Creative Director will be both a gatekeeper and trailblazer for long-existing legacy brands as well as new, groundbreaking ones. Taken together, these brands cover a wide range of content – from fast-breaking news to long-gestating entertainment projects. The candidate should be ready and willing to take on the challenges, surprises, and nimble thinking required of such a combination. This job is not just about the news.
Fox Nation, our new, fast-growing streaming platform, which serves entertainment programming, movies, cooking, reality and history series as well as politics and news, will be a key focus for this role. The Creative Director will have the rare opportunity of being one of the first creative leaders to help shape and guide the new service by shepherding platform and product art, key art across digital, print, and OOH, on-air promotion, and more.
The Creative Director will act as a leader and mentor to staff. Important components of the role are continuing to evolve the brands, introducing new best practices, and inspiring current and future designers to do great work. The candidate should also be a good ambassador and administrative leader, prepared to work across departments and brands to establish best new practices, laying the groundwork for future workflow.
This is a new position within the Creative Marketing team. This position will work in tandem with the “on-air” half of the Creative Market team as well as many other adjacent departments. The Creative Director will have a team of designers reporting to her and will report to and collaborate with the Vice President, Creative Marketing.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- 5+ years as a senior creative designer or creative director (design) experience
- Relevant experience at a studio, television network, or creative agency servicing the entertainment industry
- Portfolio/Reel/Link of past key art/animation/campaigns where you played a lead creative role
- Technical Experience: Typography, Design, Motion, Motion Tracking, Keying, Rotoscoping, Editing
- Proficiency: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, Cinema 4D, Mocha, Red Giant Suite (Trapcode, Knoll, Magic Bullet, Universe, Primatte)
- Knowledge of fundamental design and motion graphics terminology plus latest advances and trends
- An excellent communicator to liaise with internal teams, executives, and creatives
- Ability to work, revise and take/give direction on multiple projects at once
- The position involves travel to attend shoots where programming is being produced
- A collaborative and resourceful mindset
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER
- Interest/knowledge in a combination of politics/news/entertainment/history/pop culture
- Experience directing, curating, and producing photo shoots
- Experience managing up, down, and sideways
