Associate Director, Business and Legal Affairs

The Business & Legal Affairs department is seeking an entertainment attorney to provide business and legal support in connection with Fox’s live action and animated scripted programming development and production.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze, negotiate, and draft a variety of “above the line” talent deals, as well as below-the-line production agreements
- Provide production legal advice for live action and animated scripted programming
- Create and maintain departmental resources and actively participate in the establishment of departmental policies for scripted programming
- Analyze contracts in response to business questions and provide contractual and research information to business executives and more senior attorneys to assist with business decisions
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- 2-4 years prior legal experience required, preferably at a television network, studio, production company or entertainment law firm
- Juris Doctorate
- Active member of California bar or Registered In-House Counsel status
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to function independently, perform moderate to advanced-level reasoning tasks, and make common-sense decisions
- Advanced proficiency with Word and Excel
- Must be able to respond to and interact with senior-level creative and business executives in a professional, articulate, personable, and helpful manner
- Must be very organized and able to manage and effectively prioritize multiple projects
