Description

The purpose of the sales planning role is both tactical and strategic. Tactically, Sales Planners ensure consistency in Future’s one-to-one sales pitches and proposals across the global Commercial team -- producing RFP responses and pitch decks. Strategically, Sales Planners are tasked with delivering stand-out proposals which help us win maximum budget/share-of-wallet, with predictable yield and revenue delivery, in programs/campaigns which deliver on client budgets, and meet/exceed client KPIs.

The Planning Senior Manager is equally accountable for driving revenue growth through quality control and leading the vertical team’s adoption of departmental best practices. This player / coach role serves as an escalation point for direct reports and peer leadership across the vertical on a day to day basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively coach team to increase performance, set goals, objectives and KPIs and manage underperformance and disciplinary issues within team
  • Engage with other teams and internal stakeholders, including editors and sales vertical leads, to ensure your vertical is given the priority it needs to deliver your strategy and revenues
  • Maintain weekly meetings with vertical sales and account teams to review open opportunities, campaign delivery, and questions/updates about upcoming and current campaigns
  • Maintain and update an ongoing repository of sales collateral on our internal marketing systems
  • Work in partnership with an assigned team of Sales and Custom Solutions teammates to tailor pitches to each industry, account, and the full product portfolio
  • Work closely with sellers to understand client needs, wants, and objectives, and then determine media mix best for specific campaigns
  • Translate strategies and tactics set by managers and team leadership into client-facing RFP/ RFI responses and media plan templates
  • Book and manage all campaigns of value $X - $Y onto Netsuite, managing line items until a deal is closed won
  • Establish working product knowledge to grow ability to recommend tactics to sellers and clients

Requirements

  • Management and talent development of multi-tier team
  • Strong storytelling ability, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to be accurate and fast, at scale in day-to-day work with consistent, stellar results
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and organizational capabilities
  • Strategic and ROI focused -- ability to see things from the client perspective
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Broad knowledge of media channels, popular tactics, and a pulse on the trends of media
  • Firm understanding of modern and evolving content creation and distribution strategies
  • Familiarity with campaign evaluation metrics and media buying practices
  • Digitally savvy, with working knowledge of analytics and customer management tools (e.g. Salesforce, Netsuite, MOAT, Nielsen)
  • Ability to work with, prepare and build databases and spreadsheets, for the creation and modification of media plans and templates

5+ Years of Experience (US only).
