About the Role

As B2B Audience Development Manager you will report to the Director, Audience Growth and will work closely with the Chief Partnership Officer. The purpose is to evolve the B2B team's current audience tactics of content optimization, business development partnerships, onboarding journeys, and organic growth. You will work across our B2B brands, with a primary focus on email audience conversion.

About the Team

The B2B audience development team is responsible for the implementation of the overall B2B audience growth strategy including SmartBrief, the leading digital media publisher of targeted business news and information by industry. Working cross-functionally with the B2B editorial teams, the audience development team creates subscriber growth campaigns across owned, paid and partner channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project management and reporting KPIs upward
  • Act as internal expert on all things B2B audience growth, and in particular, email audience
  • Working alongside sales and the partnership team, identify key newsletter audiences to grow
  • Participate in audience marketing focused events
  • Work with editorial team to recommend and optimize original content for subscription growth
  • Track Google Analytics campaigns and report on effectiveness of original content on growth
  • Liaise with outside content vendors for additional original content when needed
  • Maintain SmartBrief's Twitter account
  • Think creatively about organic growth+engagement methods
  • Identify new distribution channels to increase traffic to SmartBrief.com
  • Assist with reporting and measuring the performance of audience development initiatives and optimizing them according to business goals
  • Drive organic visitor growth, which will have a direct impact on SmartBrief’s success

What do I need to succeed?

  • Experience in Audience Development with an emphasis on digital marketing channels
  • Data-driven individual with the ability to dig into large sets of data to interpret findings, analyze trends, recognize anomalies and build testing plans
  • Strong understanding of and passion for the digital media landscape
  • Experience with barters and referral campaigns
  • Proven track record of ideating and executing growth and content initiatives
  • Previous experience of working in SEO, preferably within a content/publishing environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Analytical and creative thinker
  • Familiarity with a range of SEO, analytics and/or social media tools.
  • Experience in B2B media a plus
