Kiplinger is a national media company that has been advising consumers and investors for almost a century. Among Kiplinger’s better known publications are the monthly Kiplinger & Personal Finance magazine and The Kiplinger Letter, a weekly business and economic forecasting periodical for people in management. The total paid circulation of Kiplinger print periodicals exceeds 900,000, and its website, Kiplinger.com, receives millions of unique visits per month.

As Contributed Content Editor for Kiplinger, you will be working directly with financial professionals - CFPs, IARs, CPAs, attorneys, actuaries and consultants who submit columns providing actionable advice for publication on Kiplinger.com. You will have knowledge and experience of writing about personal finance topics, dealing with outside authors and manuscripts and working in digital publishing. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate effectively with a broad variety of professionals and experts, and will be able to shepherd works written by non-writers through the publishing workflow.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast-paced editorial environment, ideally working with outside authors and manuscripts, and digital properties.
  • Keen understanding of personal finance topics.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of people and personalities, and drive projects to completion.
  • Ability to learn and use unique writing styles that can vary with publication or audience.
  • A familiarity with SEO best practices and analytics-driven content strategy.
  • Understanding and embrace of social media and other evolving digital platforms.
