The purpose of the media planning and strategy role is both tactical and strategic. Tactically, Sales Planners ensure consistency in Future’s one-to-one sales pitches and proposals across the global Commercial team -- producing RFP responses and pitch decks. Strategically, Media and Sales Planners are tasked with delivering stand-out proposals which help us win maximum budget/share-of-wallet, with predictable yield and revenue delivery, in programs/campaigns which deliver on client budgets, and meet/exceed client KPIs.

The Director of Media Planning and Strategy, is responsible for maintaining quality, consistency, efficacy, and setting best practices across each vertical commercial planning group. This role partners directly with Trade Marketing and Product Marketing for the successful cascade of insights, collateral and product marketing materials to the Commercial Planning team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Adjust and optimize for performance against group KPIs
  • Work with People and Culture to increase performance, set goals, objectives and KPIs and manage underperformance and disciplinary issues within team
  • Engage with regional leadership counterparts to coordinate and deliver on vertical growth plans
  • Maintain weekly meetings with vertical sales and account teams to review open opportunities, campaign delivery, and questions/updates about upcoming and current campaigns
  • Maintain and update an ongoing repository of sales collateral on our internal marketing systems
  • Work in partnership with an assigned team of Sales and Custom Solutions teammates to tailor pitches to each industry, account, and the full product portfolio
  • Work closely with sellers to understand client needs, wants, and objectives, and then determine media mix best for specific campaigns
  • Translate strategies and tactics set by managers and team leadership into client-facing RFP / RFI responses and media plan templates
  • There is no sales quota for this position.

Requirements

  • Management and talent development of multi-tier team
  • Strong storytelling ability, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to be accurate and fast, at scale in day-to-day work with consistent, stellar results
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and organizational capabilities
  • Strategic and ROI focused -- ability to see things from the client perspective
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Broad knowledge of media channels, popular tactics, and a pulse on the trends of media
  • Firm understanding of modern and evolving content creation and distribution strategies
  • Familiarity with campaign evaluation metrics and media buying practices
  • Digitally savvy, with working knowledge of analytics and customer management tools (e.g. Salesforce, Netsuite, MOAT, Nielsen)
  • Ability to work with, prepare and build databases and spreadsheets, for the creation and modification of media plans and templates
  • Proven experience in Sales Planning
  • This position is located in Atlanta
