WTAE-TV, the Hearst-owned ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA has an opening for an experienced Administrative Assistant to serve as the assistant to the General Manager as well as oversee local programming while supporting other departments as needed. This individual will provide support by performing various tasks that contribute to the daily operations of the department. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for managing appointments, screening calls, and handling various electronic and written correspondence.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the General Manager and the station management team with various duties
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Answering incoming calls and greeting guests; take messages as needed
  • Maintaining and ordering supplies
  • Assisting with travel arrangements
  • Coordinating and planning various station meetings and events
  • Manage all station programming (local, syndication and network) and associated duties, including scheduling, planning, strategy, and acquisition (in conjunction with GM and HTV programming), communication, coordination, and implementation 
  • Responsible for all FCC quarterly reporting (Children’s and Issues Reports) and other FCC reporting, as needed. 
  • Work collaboratively with all departments on all platforms (WTAE, COZI TV and 
  • A thorough understanding of HTV policies and FCC regulations will be required

Experience Requirements:

  • Proficient in MS Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Quick learner, self-starter and team player
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail oriented, multi-tasker
