KCRA 3, the Hearst Television station that is #1 in Sacramento, has an immediate opening for a dynamic Nightside Executive Producer who knows how to execute fast-paced, eye-catching newscasts. We are looking for a “show doctor” with a proven track record of strong leadership, creativity and journalistic excellence. KCRA 3 is proud to be “Where the News Comes First” and the ideal candidate will help us deliver big, bold coverage of important stories and breaking news in Northern California.
Job Description
- Manage a large, highly skilled team of anchors, multi-platform producers, assignment editors reporters and photographers.
- Lead editorial discussions, planning and execution of the 7PM, 10PM and 11PM newscasts.
- Lead decisively during breaking news with urgency across all platforms.
- Work alongside the news director to plan and execute winning strategies.
- Work collaboratively and strategically with our news management team.
- Demonstrate a people-first approach to leadership.
Job Responsibilities
- Create a spirit of enterprise reporting across all platforms.
- Coach excellent storytelling.
- Work closely with producers on clear writing, dynamic graphics and engaging showcasing.
- Encourage teambuilding with show reviews and critiques.
- Collaborate on multiplatform treatment of content.
- Pitch and lead projects focused on content innovation.
Qualifications
- Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience.
- Military DINFOS experience is a plus.
- Bilingual experience is a plus.
The estimated base salary range for this role is between $80,000 and $100,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
